There’s something special about the way Mexicans venerate Mary.
Before the midnight Mass, they sing and talk to her as if it were her birthday and she were a favorite friend, sister, aunt. It’s poignantly personal and eloquent in its simplicity. The music and lyrics could be compared to gospel music but with a much more contained and uniquely Mexucan style.
